Stage - I

The provisional admission to Ph.D. (Arts) in Management Studies program for eligible candidates at K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research, affiliated to University of Mumbai, for the academic year 2017 – 18 is beginning from Thursday, 9th November, 2017.

The last date to apply for the said program is Thursday, 30th November, 2017 till 5.00 p.m.

The eligible candidates need to download Ph.D. (Arts) in Management Studies admission form, from Institute’s website.

The duly filled form is to be submitted to the Institute’s Office personally by the candidate during Thursday, 9th November, 2017 to Thursday, 30th November, 2017 between 11.00 a.m. to 05.00 p.m. (Except Saturdays and Sundays) along with the following documents. Admission forms sent by Post / Courier will not be accepted and will not be included in admission process.


Bachelor Degree Mark sheet (All Semesters) and Degree Certificate.


Master’s Degree Mark sheet (All Semesters) and Degree Certificate.


The certificate showing eligibility / qualified for PET (Management Studies) conducted by University of Mumbai.


The certificate showing exemption from PET, if any. (As per University of Mumbai Circular No. UG/131 of 2015 – 16 dated 14th December, 2015).


Research proposal in brief on the tentative research topic. Certificate.


A demand draft for Rs.1,000/- (Rupees One Thousand Only) in favour of “K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research” payable at Mumbai.


Certificate showing work experience, if any.


Name change certificate, if any.

Stage - II

The eligible applicants will be called for brief presentation on their tentative research topic and interview during First Half of December, 2017.

The exact schedule showing dates and time for presentation and interview will be informed individually (by email only – provided by them) to the candidates as well as put up on institute’s website.

Subject to their selection, they will be provisionally admitted to the Ph.D. (Arts) in Management Studies program and guide will be allotted.

N.B. : Overall 18 seats available at our centre (Management Studies) – General Management 9 ; Marketing 5 and Finance 4.
