What is Information Security? Information is a valuable business asset and the key to the success and growth of any company. Hence it is essential that this business asset is suitably protected. In the modern networked world this becomes crucial for success and maintaining credibility. Information security is the protection of information from a wide range of threats in order to ensure business continuity, minimize business risk, maximize return on investments and increase business opportunities.

To prepare candidates for highly lucrative jobs in the area of Information Security in Indian and International organisations.

To provide Candidates with adequate knowledge in the technical aspects of Information Security to support and promote the implementation of information security related technologies.
To develop Candidates' understanding of the context of information security in organizations and the change management issues involved in developing and implementing information security policies in organizations.
To develop Candidates' ability to function as a reflective information security management practitioner, capable of critically reflecting on their practice as a professional, and maintaining a critical awareness of current issues in information security.
To provide Candidates with the opportunity to develop their conceptual thinking. Providing a strong foundation for all aspiring Candidates in Information Security.
This programme offers advanced modules of study for those wishing to gain a deep understanding and insight into Information Security Management.

Applicants will be required to appear for a the common aptitude test jointly conducted by SIMSR and MIEL.

Following the test the short listed candidates will be called for a personal interview and will be assessed by a panel comprising of executives of MIEL and faculty members of SIMSR.

Admission shall be made on the basis of satisfactory performance at the test and interview only.

Results will be declared on the SIMSR website and college notice board and communicated to candidates via email and registered speed post.

METHODOLOGY :
The programme will be conducted by subject matter experts an interactive environment providing greater scope for discussions and practice. Emphasis will be on a highly participative style of learning through Lectures, Group discussions and Syndicate exercises.

B.E Electronics / Computer Science / Electronics & Telecom / Electrical / MSc –IT / MCA / MSc (Physics or Maths) with minimum 60% marks from a recognized university.

The Program will be spread across 4 Trimesters of 3 months each and will be completed within a year. Due to limitation of seats, candidates are requested to ensure that the applications forms reach SIMSR office before the dates mentioned on the form. Engineering Graduates or other graduates with min 2 years experience or Diploma in Electronics /Computer Science or IT/Electronics &Telecommunication (with minimum 2 years experience).
