    K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research and
    MIEL e-Security Pvt. Ltd. collaborate to offer for the first time in India – Programme on Information Security Management (PRISM)

    The programme has been developed by MIEL, with emphasis on high-quality, career oriented education in order to promote a deeper understanding of information risks and their business impact.

    The signing ceremony was held at the SIMSR on 27th July 2006. The function was attended by the top management from SIMSR, MIEL and other senior executives from the IT Industry. Speaking at the ceremony, Prof.P.V.Narasimham-Director General, SIMSR, expressed his happiness on the alliance. He said, “We are happy to bring this highly specialized programme through an alliance with MIEL. This course will complement and enhance the current skill sets of our students and produce a new generation of information security professionals”.

    Mr. Kutty Nair - Chairman and Managing Director, MIEL, described this collaboration as "an exciting and pioneering partnership" and went on to add, “The idea behind the creation of such a course is to marry the knowledge and expertise gained by MIEL over the years, with opportunities available in the future. The strategy will be to provide the industry with a new class of mangers who are well-founded in information security”, Mr. Nair added.

    PRISM will offer its students advanced modules of study along with concrete industry analogies and case studies. Every module has been carefully designed and will be taught by experts in the field. In keeping with the evolution of technology, MIEL will ensure the structuring of the most relevant curriculum for the students. The programme will commence in October 2006, with a pre-qualification
    exam in September 2006. On completion of this programme, students would qualify for employment opportunities at MIEL or MIEL nominated companies, subject to their performance.
